NEW ORLEANS — A 2-year-old was shot in the 8600 block of Apple Street, according to NOPD.

NOPD was called after a 2-year-old showed up at Children's Hospital with gunshot wounds.

The toddler died at Children's Hospital.

NOPD is investigating the incident as an accidental shooting, as the initial belief is that it was a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
