Four people displaced in Algiers 2-alarm fire, NOFD reported

The fire displaced four people and two cats survived the blaze. No injuries were reported.

NEW ORLEANS — Firefighters in New Orleans battled a 2-alarm house fire Saturday night in Algiers.

It happened at about 9:00 p.m. in the 100 block of Vallette Street.

Upon arrival, firefighters were confronted with a working fire in a two-story wood-framed dwelling. The first NOFD company arrived on the scene at 9:11 p.m. The home suffered significant damage on both the first and second floors in the rear of the building,” said a report from NOFD.

The house and neighboring homes were multi-unit homes. The fire displaced four people and two cats survived the blaze. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire cause is currently being investigated.
