No bus transportation until Thursday for Algiers Charter students

Parents are encouraged to continue to arrange transportation for their children to and from school.

NEW ORLEANS — According to Algiers Charter School Association, there will be no bus transportation for Algiers Charter students until Thursday, Oct. 3.

"We understand this may cause challenges for many of our families, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience," said Algiers Charter leadership in a statement released on Monday.

Algiers Charter leadership says it is actively working with a neighboring bus provider for transportation solutions until the necessary mechanical parts arrive. In the meantime, parents are encouraged to continue to arrange transportation for their children to and from school.

"We are doing everything we can to resolve the situation as quickly as possible and anticipate bus services to resume on Thursday, October 3rd," the statement continued. "Teachers will continue to post assignments in Google Classroom for students unable to attend school. Rest assured, all Algiers Charter students will be given time to make up any missed work upon their return."
