The SUV was reportedly parked on the neutral ground when the streetcar hit it.

NEW ORLEANS — A streetcar and a public agency vehicle crashed into each other on Friday.

The accident happened around 4 p.m. near the intersection of St. Charles Avenue and Canal Street.

WWL Louisiana was at the scene. We saw the back of an SUV that had some damage, and the streetcar stopped in the middle of Canal at St. Charles.

The SUV was reportedly parked on the neutral ground when the streetcar hit it.

It's unclear who the vehicle belongs to.

The accident had traffic stopped on Canal as they worked to clear that scene.
