NEW ORLEANS — After an explosive first two weeks of the football season, there's something in the air and no it's not the fall breeze. It's the Who Dat hype.
"When the Saints are doing well there’s an air of excitement," Rubi Spears, a season ticket holder said. "When the Saints are not doing well people are frowning at work they’re not wearing their black and gold on Fridays," she said.
Admittedly fans were a bit skeptical coming into this season after last year's not-so-great performance.
"I had zero expectations coming into the season and I’m still not there yet because I’ve seen Derek Carr," Joshua Metoyer, a lifelong Saints fan, said. "I’m not convinced yet but we get the 8-2, dinner on me, Derek Carr," he said.
But that's seemingly changing, especially after the Black and Gold's win against the Cowboys. Now, fans are ready to take on the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
"They’re going to beat the Eagles I know that," Shane Marks said. "I’ve seen the Eagles defense and what the Saints have been doing so I’m really confident."
"Saints gon beat the Eagles," Leslie Davis, a self-proclaimed die-hard fan said. "We’re going to be in the Super Bowl this year, you heard it first from me," she said.
Eagles fans are in town and are confident too.
"Saints fans I apologize ahead of time we’re going to both be leaving the stadium 2 and 1," Revenell Kuris, who traveled to watch the game, said.
But, we're just not going to let them get to flapping those wings. Who Dat is just hoping the Saints keep doing what they're doing so we can bring home the 'W'.
"Defense is there it always has been we’re known for that," Barrett Whiting said. "Offensively I think we changed some things around, we’re heavy on the play action now, lots of motion opening up the big play. We’re rolling," they said.
The Black and Gold kick off at noon at the Superdome Sunday.
