7,000 without power in parts of New Orleans

Residents who live around the Bywater, Treme and parts of the Seventh Ward are effected by the outage. Entergy said power is expected to be restored around 5:30 p.m.

NEW ORLEANS — More than 7,000 customers are without power in New Orleans Thursday afternoon, according to Entergy's power outage map.

Entergy alerted customers of the outage around 2:09 p.m. According to the map, as of 3:45 p.m. 7,384 customers did not have electricity.

Residents who live around the Bywater, Treme and parts of the Seventh Ward are effected by the outage.

"Additional information will be provided when available. We apologize for this inconvenience," Entergy said.

Entergy said power is expected to be restored around 5:30 p.m.
