NEW ORLEANS — Audubon's Aquarium and Insectarium will be closed on Wednesday, May 8 to prepare for hurricane season.
Staff said they need time to make sure systems are in place in the event of a hurricane.
"Unlike the preparations you may make at your home, these preparations involve shutting down multiple systems, testing backup electrical generators, and monitoring water, air, and life support systems to ensure they will be operational in case of an emergency."
The Aquarium and Insectarium will reopen on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.
