NEW ORLEANS — Governor Jeff Landry and his wife will attend the New Orleans Saints game on Monday battling the Kansas City Chiefs as guests of Gayle Benson, according to Nola.com.

A spokesman said the Saints team president, Dennis Lauscha will also be watching the game from a suite in Kansas City, Mo.

The visit comes as the state and club are "negotiating a long-term deal that could keep the Saints in Louisiana for the foreseeable future," our partners reported.

The potential agreement could keep the team tied to Louisiana for two decades.

The agreement would extend the Saints' lease at the Caesars Superdome until 2035 and includes five-year plans for the team to stay in New Orleans.
