French Quarter building caught fire during rainstorms Saturday

The cause of the fire has not been confirmed, but neighbors told WWL they saw a lightning strike right before it started.

NEW ORLEANS — A building in the French Quarter caught fire during rainstorms on Saturday. Video from a viewer captured the fire as it went ablaze.

The fire broke out on Dumaine Street between Rampart and Burgundy. 

The cause of the fire has not been confirmed, but neighbors told WWL they saw a lightning strike right before it started.

We reached out to the fire department but we have not heard back.
