NEW ORLEANS — Here is a list of Fourth of July events you can celebrate all weekend long. Enjoy music, food, fireworks and more.

Sparks in the Park

SATURDAY, JUN. 29 - 5:30 p.m. until 9 p.m.

On the Northshore families can watch a free fireworks display at Bogue Falaya Park in Covington. There will be plenty of activities for the kids and entertainment, with music and food.

Slidell Heritage Festival

SATURDAY, JUN. 29 - 5 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

The annual festival is back with another celebration. The festival features performances by Rockin’ Dopsie Jr & The Zydeco Twisters. The night ends with an amazing fireworks display.

Tickets are $15 and can be purchased here. Children 13 and under are free.

Happy 3rd of July

WEDNESDAY, JUL. 3 - 6 p.m. until 9:15 p.m.

Families can enjoy a free concert and fireworks display at City Park on the Goldring/Woldenberg Great Lawn. The Marine Forces Reserve Band will perform and Robin Barnes will sing the national anthem.

Light Up the Lake Independence Day Celebration

WEDNESDAY, JUL. 3 - 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m

Celebrate the 10th annual celebration lighting up Lake Pontchartrain on the Mandeville lakefront. The event is free and open to the public.

The event features the Mande Milkshakers and live music by Tyler Kinchen and the Right Pieces.

Uncle Sam Jam

WEDNESDAY, JUL. 3 - 3 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.

The free Uncle Sam Jam returns to Lafreniere Park in Metairie. Families can enjoy live music, food, and, of course, fireworks displays.

General Parking is $20 and free parking is available at The Shrine on Airline (parking is first come, first serve).

St. Charles Parish Independence Day

WEDNESDAY, JUL. 3 - 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Celebrate Independence Day with a spectacular fireworks show at the West Bank Bridge Park, featuring the Sugar Shaker with live entertainment.

St. John Independence Day Celebration & Firework Show

WEDNESDAY, JUL. 3 - 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Kick off Independence Day with a celebration in St. John the Baptist Parish. There will be fun for the whole family to enjoy.

ESSENCE Festival of Culture

THURSDAY, JUL.4 until SUNDAY, JUL. 7

Birdman, Usher and Janet Jackson headlining 2024 ESSENCE Festival

Natives and tourists alike can look forward to a five-day experience of one of the largest African-American culture and music festivals at ESSENCE. The festival returns celebrating 30 years of Cash Money Millionaires, with a line-up of celebrity headliners including Usher and Janet Jackson.

Go Fourth on the River

THURSDAY, JUL. 4 - 9 p.m.

Fireworks will take to the sky on the Downtown Riverfront to celebrate Independence Day. Throughout the day families can walk along the riverfront at Spanish Plaza and enjoy other downtown attractions.

Dat Dog Fourth of July Fest 

THURSDAY, JUL. 4 - 4 p.m. until 6 p.m.

Want to compete in Son of a Saint's 10th annual hot dog eating contest? Then celebrating with Dat Dog at their July Fest is where you need to be. The winner takes a $500 cash prize home or donates it to their favorite charity.

St. Bernard Salutes America’s Annual Celebration

THURSDAY, JUL.4 - 5:30 p.m. until 10 p.m.

Families can celebrate on the Frederick J. Sigur Civic Center Grounds in Chalmette. Enjoy free entertainment by Adam Pearce from The Voice and The Top Cats. Food and drinks will be available and the night ends with a fireworks display.

Madisonville Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration

THURSDAY, JUL. 4 - 10 a.m. until 8:45 p.m.

Visit the town of Madisonville for some Fourth of July fun. The celebration features kids' games, horseshoe tour. Families can bring chairs, coolers and picnic baskets along the riverfront. The event ends with a fireworks display.
