Flood advisory issued for parts of southeast Louisiana, neutral ground parking allowed

The advisory was in effect until 6:30 p.m. Neutral ground parking is allowed until Sunday, Jul. 14 at 8 a.m.

NEW ORLEANS — A flood advisory was issued for parts of southeast Louisiana due to expected heavy rainfall on Saturday afternoon.

The advisory was in effect until 6:30 p.m. Parishes that could be impacted include Orleans, Jefferson, Plaquemines, and St. Bernard.

Neutral ground parking is allowed until Sunday, Jul. 14 at 8 a.m.

NOLA Ready said expect 1 to 2 inches of rainfall are expected that could lead to minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

Avoid flood waters
-NEVER drive through flood waters. It's dangerous for you, your vehicle, and can push water into nearby homes and businesses.
-If water rises around your car, abandon the car immediately.

-Call 911 to report street flooding and life-threatening emergencies.
