NEW ORLEANS — Neutral ground parking is allowed until Saturday, Jul. 6 at 8 a.m.
A flash flood warning was in effect for Orleans Parish due to heavy rainfall on Friday evening, according to NOLA Ready.
The National Weather Service issued the warning until 9:45 p.m.
NWS said expect 1-2 inches of rainfall that could lead to flooding in low-lying areas such as streets and underpasses.
Locations that may experience flash flooding includes:
- New Orleans
- Harvey
- Marrero
- Metairie
- Jefferson
- Gretna
- Westwego
- Bridge City
- Terrytown
A street flood advisory was issued for parts of St. Bernard, Jefferson, Plaquemines, and Orleans until 10:45 p.m.
NOLA Ready advises residents to avoid flooded roads or areas. Please don't block intersections, streetcar tracks, sidewalks, or bike paths.
Avoid flood waters
-NEVER drive through flood waters. It's dangerous for you, your vehicle, and can push water into nearby homes and businesses.
-If water rises around your car, abandon the car immediately.
