NEW ORLEANS — A city council committee officially approved a set of settlement agreements with Entergy New Orleans that will provide some refunds to customers.
That's the good news. The settlements total more than $250 million, plus there's a $500,000 fine that must be spent on reliability upgrades.
Entergy said in a statement Tuesday that the agreement sets them up for "strength and success in the long run."
The bad news is the payouts will be spread over the next 25 years or so.
Customers will see credits on their bills starting in June.
