New Orleans & Company brings back tradition with Fleur de Lis drop on New Year's Eve

The company plans to keep tradition alive for locals and visitors for the New Year's Eve celebration.

NEW ORLEANS — New Orleans & Company is kicking off the new year with the Fleur de Lis drop on New Year's Eve.

The annual tradition at Jax Brewery will be coordinated with fireworks on the Riverfront, including an LED board that will have a countdown and a New Year's message.

Fireworks will be produced by the Crescent City Countdown Club in partnership with the Mayor's Office of Cultural Economy and the New Orleans Tourism and Cultural Fund.

"New Orleans will be bustling New Year’s Eve weekend, setting the stage for a strong 2024 for the tourism industry. We are excited to play a role in the celebration," said Walt Leger III, President and CEO of New Orleans & Company.

Firework displays will show the colors of the visiting Sugar Bowl teams, the Texas Longhorns and the Washington Huskies. The celebration brings in the 2024 College Football Playoff. The company partnered with the Sugar Bowl organization to host the Allstate Sugar Bowl Tailgate Town and a parade through the French Quarter.

Here's what to expect Sugar Bowl weekend:

Sunday, Dec. 31- 2:30 p.m.

  • Allstate Sugar Bowl Parade in the French Quarter

Sunday, Dec. 31 - 11:59 p.m.

  • New Year's Eve Fireworks Display on the Riverfront

Monday, Jan.1 - 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.

  • Allstate Sugar Bowl Tailgate Town in Champions Square

Monday, Jan.1 - 7:45 p.m.

  • The Annual Allstate Sugar Bowl at Caesars Superdome
