NEW ORLEANS — The Ryan Seacrest Foundation is planning to build a two-story interactive play space inside the New Orleans Children's Hospital. The new state-of-the-art broadcast studio is expected to open in early 2026, Nola.com reported.
Thursday, staff and kids celebrated the announcement, excited for the hospital's place space called Walker’s Imaginarium.
The 15,000 square foot space will allow kids to create their own TV and radio shows with high-end production equipment and broadcast to patients unable to leave their rooms. It will also feature a "mini golf course in the shape of Louisiana, a Jazz Fest stage and a Mardi Gras float kids can play on."
Television producers and American Idol host Ryan Seacrest said he "fell in love" with the idea and New Orleans is "one of the great cities" in a video statement, our partners reported. Seacrest said he plans to come to the city for the grand opening.
This will be the 15th location for a Seacrest Studio.
Other cities include: Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Dallas, Denver, Nashville, Orange County, Orlando, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Memphis, Queens and Salt Lake City.
