NEW ORLEANS — First-time franchisee Lionel Nelson will open Louisiana's first-ever Wayback Burgers in October, according to a media release from the national food chain's public relations team, BML.

The burger joint is expecting to bring approximately 30 jobs to its 2,402-square-foot location at 611 O'Keefe Avenue in New Orleans as soon as October.

“We are excited to continue the expansion of Wayback Burgers with the lease signing of our first restaurant in Louisiana,” said Patrick Conlin, President of Wayback Burgers. “Our New Orleans franchisee has assembled a stellar team that will provide the impeccable food and customer service our guests have come to expect."

With locations in 35 states and growing, Wayback Burgers will offer its signature fare, like the fan-favorite 'Cheeeesy,' which comes with four slices of melted American cheese and two beef patties severed between an inverted, grilled and buttered bun.

Local foodies can also choose from cheesesteaks, chicken sandwiches – grilled and crispy, salads, veggie burgers, tots, fries and hand-dipped Blue Bunny ice cream and milkshakes.

After having a delightful experience at one of the Wayback Burgers locations in Georgia, I was inspired to open a Wayback Burgers location of my own,” said Nelson. “I am thrilled to bring the Wayback Burgers dining experience to the New Orleans community and look forward to sharing delicious menu items, especially my personal favorite, the Cheeeesy Burger.”
