METAIRIE, La. — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Jefferson Parish early Sunday morning.
Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop B were notified of a single-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle on Clearview Parkway near Earhart Boulevard in Metairie. The crash claimed the life of 27-year-old Cameron Blackwell of Belle Chasse.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Blackwell was driving a 2014 Yamaha FZ09 Motorcycle north on the elevated portion of Clearview just north of Earhart.
"For reasons still under investigation, the Yamaha failed to negotiate a curve, ran off the right side of the roadway, and impacted the guardrail," said an LSP report.
As a result, Blackwell fell over the guardrail to the ground below.
