Nearly all power restored across New Orleans and the Northshore following a wave of storms

NEW ORLEANS — A line of severe storms that swept across portions of southeast Louisiana Monday afternoon and into early Tuesday morning has left more than 4,000 local Entergy and Cleco customers across the area without power overnight.

Crews from both utility companies have worked continuously to restore power.

As of 4 p.m., Entergy maps showed local outages throughout the New Orleans area of just under 1,000 cumulative, including 600 in Jefferson Parish, 300 in Orleans Parish and 200 in Tangipahoa Parish.

Statewide totals are down to 3,700.
