MANDEVILLE, La. — A Mandeville police officer jumped in the lake to save a man after weather got bad on Thursday afternoon.

The department posted pictures on Facebook of an officer tugging a boat while assisting a man out of the water.

Another photo shows the officer soaking wet after his rescue.

"Sometimes this job calls you to jump right in! Thanks to Ofc. Baehr and other assisting Patrol Officers for their quick actions in keeping those in the water safe today after the weather took a very quick turn for the worst," the department said in the post. "Now hopefully Ofc. Baehr has some towels in his gear bag!!!"
