A man was taken into custody in connection with the death of a 60-year-old woman who was found burned to death in her home in New Orleans East.
The incident occurred around 10:39 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 23 in the 4700 block of Corinne Street. When firefighters arrived, they found a woman burned next to a chair with 90 percent of her body burned.
She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not been released.
39-year-old Erik J. Beasley was taken into custody in connection with the incident. He was booked for second-degree murder and aggravated arson.
