NEW ORLEANS -- Police are investigating an early morning shooting that left one man dead in the Lower 9th Ward Saturday morning.
It happened around 3 a.m. in the 500 block of Saint Maurice Avenue.
Officers said they were called out to the area after a report of gunfire. When they arrived, they said they found an unresponsive man lying face-down on the ground. The man was brought to an area hospital, where police said he later died.
A suspect and motive for this shooting have not been released.
