NEW ORLEANS — A daughter grieving the loss of her father took to social media in hopes of getting his LSU jacket back after it was mistakenly donated to a Goodwill store in Denham Springs.
Her call for help worked! The jacket was returned to the family on Monday.
Her father, Michael Vincent “Bubba” Gagliano, passed away on February 4 at the age of 75.
Just days later, Carrie Gagliano said in a Facebook post, "Friends I NEED your help!!!! My dad’s LSU jacket was donated by the nursing home to the Goodwill in Denham Springs. IT WAS SOLD THIS WEEK! PLEASE please help us find this jacket. We will PAY for its return."
The post was shared over 22,000 times. She also posted a TikTok that has over 750,00 views.
TikTok star Justin Danger Nunley was tagged in that video, and he posted a video offering a reward if the jacket was returned to the family. Nunley posted another TikTok announcing that the reward was upped to $5,000.
Around 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Nunley shared a video with his 7 saying, "Carrie, I think I have something that belongs to you" while wearing the jacket.
WE HAVE THE JACKET!!, Carrie Gagliano said in a Facebook post around 3:30 p.m.
