LOUISIANA, USA — After severe rainstorms and an EF-1 tornado swept across southeast Louisiana, Entergy is working to restore power to its customers.
Entergy Louisiana said 70 percent of the electric system was damaged with 170 poles down and 435 spans of wire in need of repair or replacement.
They said crews restored power to thousands "except for portions of Southwest Louisiana and Acadiana." Officials said expect to have power restored by Thursday night, Apr. 11.
However, customers in "hard-hit areas" like Calcasieu Parish and Lafayette will not have power restored until Friday, Apr. 12.

- Greater Baton Rouge area – While crews expect most customers in Ascension Parish to be restored by sometime tonight, they expect most in the Baton Rouge metropolitan and Denham Springs areas to be restored by tomorrow evening and most in the Port Allen and Zachary areas by tomorrow night.
- Jefferson and River parishes – Crews expect restore most customers by sometime tonight.
- North Louisiana – Crews expect to restore power to most customers by tomorrow night.
- Southwest Louisiana – Crews expect to restore power to most customers in the Jennings area by tomorrow night and most customers in the Calcasieu Parish and Lafayette areas by Friday afternoon.
- Tangipahoa Parish – Crews expect to restore power to most customers in the Hammond area by late tomorrow afternoon and most customers in the Amite area by tomorrow night.
