NEW ORLEANS - The holiday season is upon us, and people all over town are giving back to the community. 'Tank and the Bangas' will be spending two days building a home in New Orleans East for a family in need.
It's a lot of work but it's a lot of fun and people worked with a smile on their face.
Tank and the Bangas are working with Habitat for Humanity to get a home built. The people there, mostly volunteers, started Friday morning and are hoping to get most of it up by Saturday.
Habitat for Humanity is an organization that helps build homes for and with people who need them. This particular home is a 3-bedroom and 1-bathroom place for a mother and her children. It's one of many here in this neighborhood and so far, this property is looking pretty good.
There have been some challenges and mistakes made (which of course had been fixed) but for Tank and the Bangas coming out and working on it has been special and a learning experience.
Those with Habitat for Humanity say each project is special and it's always great to see the teamwork between people and the hard work paying off in the end.
Habitat has built more than 600 homes in New Orleans.
