All waterways in Tangipahoa Parish closed to recreational traffic until further notice

TANGIPAHOA PARISH, La. — All waterways are closed to recreational traffic due to high water, according to Tangipahoa Parish officials.

The sheriff's office said they will be on patrol along with wildlife and fisheries to enforce the closure.

The order remains in effect until further notice.

On Wednesday, Livingston Parish closed its waterways due to high winds associated with tropical storm Alberto in the Gulf of Mexico, according to the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's office said "rising water levels caused by recent high winds from the tropical weather in the Gulf of Mexico, " in a Facebook post.
