NEW ORLEANS — The Louisiana High School Athletic Association hit a local high school varsity basketball team with severe sanctions after their coach was accused of recruiting violations.
As The Times-Picayune reports, the LHSAA ordered Isidore Newman School in Uptown New Orleans to forfeit all of the team’s wins from the last three seasons including two state championships.
They're also banned from postseason play, and the team's head coach, Randy Livingston, is suspended for one calendar year. The team is allowed to finish out the rest of this season.
The school's athletic director, Patrick Summerour, says they plan to appeal the ruling.
