NEW ORLEANS - WWL-TV Meteorologist Laura Buchtel announced Monday that she is leaving the TV forecasting profession at the end of the week.
Buchtel, who has served as a meteorologist at WWL-TV for 10 years, has spent 12 years on TV forecasting the weather. She has spent her time at WWL-TV as the morning show meteorologist.
"I've made the tough decision to pursue some things outside of TV for now," she said during the Eyewitness Morning News. "It's just one of those things when you know that it's time. You've had a great 10 years here and you know there needs to be a new chapter."
Buchtel's final day on the air will be Friday, May 20.
