Lake Terrace home gets festive with 'Barbie World' Christmas decorations

There are at least 25 Barbie girls in this Barbie world and Jonette Brown said it took her at least a month to set everything up.

NEW ORLEANS — All week WWL Louisiana has shown you the very creative ways folks here in Southeast Louisiana decorate their homes for the holidays. Tonight our Whitney Miller took us to a home in Lake Terrace that's sure to make you go pink!

The road to Barbie land is paved with lipstick, roller blades and pink purses.

"It’s Pinkmas, you know Pinkmas is really like the theme of this year," a homeowner told WWL Louisiana.

Every year Jonette Brown lights up her yard with whimsical Christmas decor.

Some are traditional and some are regional.

"The joy that it brings to people being able to drive by and just see it," she told Miller.

But this year after the "Barbie" movie hit theaters Brown says she got the pink fever and decided to go all out for Christmas.

"I was always a big Barbie collector growing up and played with Barbies almost exclusively as a child," Brown explained to Miller.

There are at least 25 Barbie girls in this Barbie world and Jonette says it took her at least a month to set everything up.

"Just Barbie took about a month to conceptually put it together and order all the stuff," she said.

She put up three homes and set up some very detailed scenes with characters like depressed Barbie and movie girl Barbie.

"As joyous as Barbie is when she goes to the real world she learns that there is a reality. That everything is not always perfect and so we kind of captured that," she told Miller.

All so she can send a sweet message and celebrate a very Merry Pinkmas with her family and neighbors.

"We still drive by wherever we can find a house and get out and walk in their driveway if they have something. Its just, it comes once a year and you only live once."
