LAFOURCHE PARISH -- Louisiana State Police issued a traffic advisory for Lafource Parish.
The southbound lanes of La 3235 are currently closed at LA 3162 due to an area of asphalt that has been washed away.
Shortly after 3:30pm Saturday February 13, troopers responded to a report of a large hole in the asphalt near the southbound fogline of LA 3235.
Upon inspection, troopers found the roadway below the asphalt had been washed out. The area underneath the hole was approximately six feet by 12 feet and travels four feet into the right lane.
Due to a concern for further collapse and public safety, LA 3235 southbound has been closed and all traffic is being diverted onto LA 3162 to LA 1.
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) will inspect the damage and will make an assessment as to how long the closure will last.
