HOUMA, La. – Police in Houma are investigating a murder after a man’s body was found near a home Monday morning.
According to the Houma Police Department, officers received a call around 6 a.m. about a man lying near a home in the 2600 block of Truman Street. Officers discovered the man, who was wearing dark color clothing, with several gunshot wounds.
Police identified the man as 24-year-old Khari Bateast.
“At this point, the investigation is in its infant stages as detectives are interviewing potential witnesses,” Houma police shared on social media.
