LAFOURCHE PARISH, La. — A man was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Lafourche Parish on Louisiana Highway 308 at the intersection with U.S. Highway 90, according to Troop C State Police.
The crash happened around 6 a.m. Thursday.
State police identified the man as 52-year-old Tony Mire of Thibodaux, who was riding a 2019 Harley-Davidson motorcycle while traveling south on LA Hwy 308. At the same time a 1998 Chevrolet S-10 was traveling north.
Mire failed to yield to oncoming traffic, turned left to enter the onramp of U.S Hwy 90 East, and was struck by the Chevrolet when he crossed.
Troop C said Mire suffered fatal injuries and died on the scene. The driver of the Chevrolet was properly restrained and had no injuries.
A standard toxicology sample was collected from Mire and submitted for analysis. Troops said the driver of the Chevrolet was determined not to be impaired and voluntarily submitted to a breath sample, which showed no alcohol detected.
State police are still investigating the crash. Troop C has investigated 2 fatal crashes resulting in 2 fatalities in 2024.
