Krewe of Cleopatra float gets stuck in tree

The float stopped at the intersection of Jefferson and Magazine Street.

NEW ORLEANS — As the Krewe of Cleopatra rolled Uptown Friday night, one of its floats got stuck in a tree. It happened at the intersection of Jefferson and Magazine Street.

The krewe started rolling again around 8:15 p.m. after a delay of more than an hour.

The krewe's third float got caught in a tree along the parade route, according to WWL Louisiana's Devin Bartolotta.

WWL Louisiana's Lily Cummings also sent a video shared by krewe members on float three. The video captures the moment the float got stuck underneath a tree. One of the riders told Cummings that the float also carried the bathroom, which fell over.

But this isn't the first time the krewe has had issues. Last year, a confetti canon knocked out power, between 1,500 and 2,000 buildings were without electricity.
