METAIRIE, La. — The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident that ended with a van in a canal in Metairie as a hit-and-run.
But investigators say it’s too early to say who hit whom.
WWL Lousiana spoke with the family that was rescued from the canal. They told us that someone hit them and knocked them into the canal. Then, the other person kept going.
The crash happened near West Esplanade and Oaklawn in Metairie.
Video shows the family being rescued and how high the water was from the heavy rains.
