Valentine's Day greetings in Metairie has florists working around the clock

The team at Villere's Florist in Metairie is working around the clock

METAIRIE, La. — One of the most popular gifts on Valentine's Day is flowers.

The team at Villere's Florist in Metairie is working around the clock.

“Valentine’s Day is our single biggest one day of the year. It’s pretty crazy. So, on a regular day we do about 100 deliveries. On Valentine’s Day, we do about 1,000," Roger Villere said.

On Tuesday, the store was packed as delivery drivers picked up orders.

“We always run out of red roses," Villere said. “Most of the guys want red. Most of the ladies want a different color."

Unless you're a secret admirer, usually a note is attached.

Villere shared some of the messages without disclosing anyone's identity.

“I’ll just read them out. This first one just says, ‘Love,'" Villere said.

Most of the notes are sweet.

“Every day I spend with you is like Valentine’s Day. You are my love. You are my heart. Love always," Villere read, “These flowers pale in comparison to the beautiful woman you are. All my love.”

“These are the only two times I want to be with you. Now and forever," Villere read.

Some messages are silly.

“I love you. I did flowers even though I said I wasn’t going to because you deserve it, but this doesn’t mean you have to get me anything. Haha," Villere read.

Some messages can't be shared on television.

“There’s some really spicy ones, but they don’t really show us all of them because they bring in their own cards," Villere said, “And sometimes they’ll show them to you and say, ‘Hey you think this is alright? You think this is too much? But then they don’t want you to keep a copy of it. They seal it up.”

However you say 'Happy Valentine's Day' we hope you spend it with the ones you love!
