METAIRIE, La. — An incident in Metairie allegedly due to inoperable traffic lights sent one vehicle into the canal near the intersection of Green Acres Road and Veterans Boulevard on Thursday morning.
A late model Ford pickup truck ended up partially submerged, while a Ford SUV sat stationary in the turnaround lane with its right rear wheel severely damaged.
The driver of the SUV was transported to the hospital for medical treatment, while the driver of the truck was unharmed.
No word yet regarding status of motorists involved.
