Vehicles inside storage unit cause fire in West End, NOFD says

NOFD said there were mostly cars and boats in the unit that lead to a "very heavy fire load."

NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Fire Department worked to put out a three-alarm fire on the West End on Wednesday.

Firefighters were sent to a storage unit in the 300 block of W. Robert E. Lee Blvd. NOFD said there were mostly cars and boats in the unit that lead to a "very heavy fire load."

NOFD said it took over 50 firefighters to attack the fire, including help from Jefferson Parish. 

No injuries have been reported. 

Officials are still working to figure out how it started.
