Technical glitch erroneously shows 13,000 without electricity in Jefferson Parish

Over 13,000 without power in Jefferson Parish

JEFFERSON PARISH, La. — Over 13,000 Entergy customers were erroneously reported without power in Jefferson Parish on Monday afternoon. 

According to Entergy, a glitch showed that many customers had lost electricity on the company's power outage map. 

"Technical issues briefly generated an error showing approximately 13,000 customers without service in the Kenner area on our view outage map," Entergy said in a statement to WWL. "No customers lost power in the area this afternoon." 

Initially, the outage map showed that the "power loss" was expected to be restored by 4:30 p.m., and the site said the following at the time of the outage: 

"Additional information will be provided when available. We apologize for this inconvenience."
