Murder in Avondale was a domestic situation, JPSO says

The scene was still active when the initial information was released, but a JPSO spokesman said additional details would be released soon.

AVONDALE, La. — Jefferson Parish deputies are investigating a murder in Avondale Monday night stemming from a domestic disturbance, authorities said. 

JPSO deputies were called to the 200 block of Glenn Della Drive in Avondale around 9:50 p.m. Monday night in response to a shooting. 

When they arrived, they found a male victim shot to death just inside the doorway of a house, a JPSO spokesman said

He was shot in the neck and was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The victim's identity was not released and a JPSO spokesman said investigators would not release the name of the suspect Monday night.

The shooting was the result of a domestic disturbance situation, the spokesman said.
