KENNER, La. – City councilmembers unanimously voted Thursday on a resolution asking for Jefferson Parish President Mike Yenni to resign.
The vote came less than an hour into a regularly-scheduled meeting, after the floor was opened for comment.
The resolution comes about a week after a petition began to recall Yenni.
Yenni admitted to sexting a 17-year-old young man two years ago, before he was voted into his current position. He was serving as Kenner’s mayor at the time of the texts.
