GRETNA, La. (AP) - Police say a Louisiana doctor has been charged with sexual battery after a suspicious patient used a cellphone to record him fondling her during an exam.
The New Orleans Advocate reports 57-year-old Dr. James Dyess was arrested Thursday and released from jail on a $20,500 bond. Dyess practices internal medicine in Gretna.
Gretna Police Chief Arthur Lawson said a 35-year-old woman told investigators she felt the doctor made inappropriate sexual advances during a prior appointment. She set up a cellphone in her purse to record video during a follow-up exam. Lawson said it showed Dyess fondling the woman's breasts and genitals.
Dyess was charged after the woman brought the video to police.
The newspaper said the doctor's attorney, Brian Capitelli, declined to comment.
