JEFFERSON PARISH, La. — Emmett Gilbert School of Excellence in Avondale returned to class on Friday after closing on Thursday.
On Thursday, school officials announced that the air conditioning system was malfunctioning, and for the safety and well-being of the students and staff, the school closed.
They said a temporary chiller will be delivered to the school to address the air conditioning malfunction, in a release.
"We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and support," school officials said.
