JEFFERSON PARISH, La. — A woman's decomposed body was found near train tracks in Jefferson Parish, according to our partners at the Times-Picayune | New Orleans Advocate
Their report says a man walking on the tracks near the 400 block of Jefferson Highway noticed an unusual smell on August 9. After the man looked around, he found the woman's remains near some bushes.
Tim Genevay, director of forensic operations for the coroner's office, told NOLA.com that investigators are working to identify the woman.
The woman's cause of death is under investigation.
