Power restored after nearly 7,000 Entergy customers lost electricity in Kenner

Entergy attributes the loss of power to a downed line in the area.

KENNER, La. — Nearly 7,000 Entergy customers in Kenner found themselves without power shortly before 2 p.m. on Friday.  

Entergy maps showed the outage occurred at 1:40 p.m.in the area east of Duncan Canal to Power Boulevard, and south of Joe Yenni Boulevard past Interstate 10 to streets above West Napoleon Avenue.

Kenner Police posted the outage on social media, stating: "The light on Williams from Vintage to Veterans. West Esplanade and Power and all on Veterans are not working. We have notified [Entergy]. They are working on fixing them."

Power was restored at 2:45 p.m., more than an hour ahead of their reported 4 p.m. estimate.

Entergy attributed the loss of power to a downed line in the area.
