NEW ORLEANS — A stretch of I-10 eastbound is back open after a car crash killed a man.
The New Orleans Police Department said it happened around 1 a.m. on the elevated portion of the twin spans near Ridgeway Boulevard.
Investigators say officers responded to calls of a vehicle on fire. Police say only one vehicle was involved in the crash. They also say the man inside the car was unresponsive and EMS later confirmed he died on the scene.
Saint Tammany Parish authorities have dispatched a boat to check the waters under the elevated highway for additional victims or evidence.
