NEW ORLEANS — New Orleans City Council President Helena Moreno stopped by WWL Louisiana on Thursday morning to talk with Eric Paulsen about a myriad of topics stemming from the latest Louisiana legislative session.
One of the local topics of discussion included the efficiency of the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans and issues regarding billing while installations of 'smart meters' continue citywide.
"It's like....you pay 100 bucks every month or whatever and the next thing you know...you get a bill for like $3,000 that will knock that one out," explained Moreno. "And it allow you to play six billing until you get your meter."
'Smart' water meters will allow customers to monitor their own water usage and accurately track billing using an online portal.
