NEW ORLEANS — A Downtown brewpub is closed after nearly 20 years in the city, according to Nola.com.

Gordon Biersch quietly closed its doors in August. Our partners reported that the closure comes amid other brand locations closing across the nation.

The brewpub was located at 200 Poydras Street at the Fulton Street pedestrian mall. Caesars Casino operates the property.

A spokesperson for Caesars toldNOLA.com "there’s no word yet on what could come next in the space, but added the company is in discussion with some of its national partners about it."

In the 1990s, the Gordon Biersch brand was created, pioneering what local brewpubs look like today.

There were 25 Gordon Biersch locations in the country when it opened in New Orleans. However, the brewpubs have continued to close.

Now, there are only three locations left, including those in airport concourses.
