NEW ORLEANS -- A campfire classic will be available in Girl Scout cookie form next year.

Girl Scouts Louisiana East will offer a s'mores-inspired crispy grahama cookie double-dipped in creme icing and enrobed in a chocolatey coating, according to a release from the organization.

"S'mores are such a favorite treat that I think everyone is really going to enjoy our newest Girl Scout cookie," said Jack ALexander, council CEO. "We can hardly wait for our sale, which begins in January."

According to the Girl Scouts, the cookie is vegan and free of artificial colors, preservatives and partially hydrogenated oils.

The chocolate-coated cookie is one of two versions to be released by the Girl Scouts next year. The other version, a crunchy graham sandwich cookie with a chocolate and marshmallowy filling, won't be available in the Eastern Louisiana market.
