A funeral for gospel singer Jo “Cool” Davis will be held Saturday.
Public visitation will begin at 8 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 1329 Jackson Ave. The funeral will begin at 10 a.m., arranged by Heritage Funeral Directors.
Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 4000 Norman Meyer Ave.
Davis died Friday after a brief illness. He was 63.
He was best known for bringing gospel music to secular clubs such as Tipitina’s, where he was a doorman and emcee for nearly three decades, and his annual performances in the Gospel Tent at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.
