SLIDELL, La. — Firefighters in St. Tammany Parish battled another marsh fire near Slidell.
The St. Tammany Fire Protection District #1 was quick on the scene with a boat and a pump capable of putting water down on the fire.
The marsh fire sparked in the Highway 11/Carr Drive area of Slidell Sunday night. Fire officials believe it may have been sparked accidentally by fireworks. The fire was extinguished without damaging any structures or homes.
This is the second marsh fire to erupt in that area near Highway 11 this month.
