Linda Frickey's husband sues parents of teens guilty in her carjacking, death

The sister of Frickey’s husband said her brother plans to push forward with the civil lawsuit to show that parents have "accountability over their children."

NEW ORLEANS — The husband of Linda Frickey is pursuing legal action against the parents of the four teens convicted in her fatal carjacking last year.

According to The Times-Picayune, court filings show her husband, Ricky Frickey, is seeking $50,000 in damages for his wife's wrongful death as well as loss of income, emotional distress, and more.

The sister of Frickey’s husband told Nola.com that her brother plans to push forward with the civil lawsuit against the six parents to show that parents have accountability over their children,” and “bring awareness to the public that if your children commit crimes, you are liable.”

The lawsuit was originally filed back in March but put on hold until after the more than a-year-long criminal case against the four teens wrapped up.

On Monday, a jury convicted John Honore, 18, of second-degree murder. He faces life in prison when he is sentenced in January.

The three other teens involved, Briniyah Baker, 17, Lenyra Theophile, 16, and Mar'Qel Curtis, 16, pleaded guilty to manslaughter charges and sentenced to 20-year sentences.
